Philanthropy
For over 20 years, the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi have raised funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer, donating over $1.1 M to help the women and families impacted by this disease.
Breast Cancer Awareness
The alpha Kappa Delta Phi sisterhood is united in the fight against Breast Cancer. We work together to spread awareness on all our campus communities through service projects, workshops, informational booths, and forums. As part of this effort, we encourage the sisters of aKDPhi to continue to learn more about breast health, preventative measures, and opportunities for further engagement around Breast Cancer Awareness.
While we spend the entire year working on our efforts to do service, raise funds, and give back, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During this month, our sisters nationwide make sure to dedicate at least one service event to Breast Cancer Awareness.
As a collective, we are committed to:

Raising and donating funds to non-profit organizations devoted to eradicating breast cancer

At a national meeting with all the chapter presidents... I personally nominated Breast Cancer [as our philanthropy]. I thought to myself, 'If we as women don't fight for issues or causes that directly impact us, then who will?'... And because women are truly the heart of every family, those impacted include everyone in society, not just women.
Anita Tso Philanthropy Award
The Anita Tso Philanthropy Award was first presented in 2001. In honour of Jasmine Tso's mother, Anita Tso, who passed away from breast cancer, this award recognizes one outstanding chapter a year who has not only excelled in contributing to the fight against breast cancer, but has also participated in various community service and volunteer activities throughout the year.
